Office 365 Email & Calendar Android Configuration

Use these instructions to reconfigure your Android device once you have
been migrated to Office 365 email and calendaring services.

These instructions generally apply to any model Android, though
some menu options and screen views may differ slightly. Once you've
been migrated, you will not be able to access your mailbox from your
device until you follow these steps.

HUIT recommends that you useMicrosoft Outlook for Androidto access your Office 365 Email & Calendar.The Outlook app was designed to work with Office 365 and provides more features and functionality than the native Android email and calendar applications.

If you are updating your Android device start with step one.
If you have a brand new Android, please click here and follow the steps.

1. From the Settings menu, selectAccounts & sync(this application may be namedAccounts on some versions of Android).
2. Select Corporate (this option may be named Exchange or Exchange ActiveSync on some versions of Android)

3. Tap the Remove Account button

4. At the prompt confirm that you really want to delete the account.

Set up your Office 365 Email & Calendar account

1. From the Settings menu, select Accounts & sync (this application may be named Accounts on some versions of Android) then Add Account
2. Select Corporate (this option may be named Exchange or Exchange ActiveSync on some versions of Android)

3. Enter your primary e-mail address and the same password you used to access your email before migration

4. Tap Next

5. Enter the following account information:
      • Domain\Username: Your primary e-mail address. If Domain and Username are separate text boxes in your version of Android, leave the Domain box blank and enter your full e-mail address in the Username box.
      • Password: The same password you used to access your email before migration
      • Exchange Server: outlook.office365.com
      • Check both of the SSL options

6. Tap Next

7. Once your device has verified your account with Office 365 Email & Calendar, you may be presented with a Remote security administration warning indicating that our Office 365 Email & Calendar policies will enforce password-protection on your device. If you do, just tap OK to dismiss it.
8. Next you should see the Account settings screen.
The options available depend on the version of Android on your device and may include the following:
      • Email checking frequency: The default value is Automatic (push). When you select this option, e-mail messages will be sent to your phone as they arrive in your mailbox. We recommend only selecting this option if you have an unlimited data plan.
      • Days to sync: This is the amount of mail you want to keep on your mobile phone. You can choose from several length options, including one day, three days, and one week.
      • Sync contacts from this account: If you select this option, your contacts will be synchronized between your phone and your Exchange account.
9. Tap Next and enter a name for this account, then tap Done to complete setup.
